Beaches

As South Forda Park is located in North Cornwall it is ideally located as the area has a renowned surfing coast with superb beaches, spectacular countryside and beautiful towns and villages. The rugged coastline is dotted with tiny coves and shallow bays, please see below.

Sandymouth - This is a National Trust beach which is dog friendly all year round.  It has a car park located at the top where you have to walk down a short valley to get to the beach. Sandymouth is a nice peaceful beach which also has a cafe plus public toilets - 5 miles away or 12 mins by car.

Duckpool - This is also a National Trust beach and a surfers beach but only for the experienced as it can be dangerous for swimming.  It is a pebbly beach and not very big but very picturesque.  This also has a National Trust car park and easy access to the beach - 5.5 miles away or 13 mins by car.

Northcott Mouth - At low tide this beach is sandy but rocky which creates rock pools ideal for children to explore.  This beach has no toilets but does have a National Trust car Park.  The waves are good for surfers if they do not mind the the rocky reefs - 7.2 miles away or 18 minutes.

Crooklets Beach - One of 2 beaches in Bude and a very popular surfing beach. At low tide there is  of golden sand and it's ideal for families as close to a beach cafe, showers and a very accessible car park - 6.9 miles away or 17 mins by car.

Summerleaze Beach - The second beach in Bude - closer to the center of Bude and near the picturesque canal and the river Neet.  Also Popular with families - 7.6 miles away or 18 mins by car.

Widemouth Bay - Another beach very popular with surfers and families.  There are toilet facilities, cafes and car parks at both ends of the beach - 10 miles away or 18 minutes by car.

Crackington Haven.jpg

Crackington Haven - Renowned as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The beach is pebbly at high tide but sandy at low. There is cafe, family pub (The Coombe Barton Inn), toilet facilities and a small for beach items - 16.4 miles away or 28 minutes by car.
