National Trust Places

Below are a few National Trust Places to visit whilst on your stay at South Forda Park.  These are all located within driving distance of us and make a great day out.  After which we still are close enough to get back in time to relax in front of the fire.

Dunsland -

Explore the ancient parkland and visit the site of the old manor house at Dunsland in Devon - 15.6 miles away or 25 mins by car.

lawrence house

Lawrence House -

Lawrence House was Built in 1753. Leased to Launceston Town Council and used as a local museum and civic centre - 20.1 miles away or 34 mins by car.


Old Post Office at Tintagel - 

A medieval farm house which was once a post office (hence the name) has some interesting items on display inside after which you can relax in its back garden and the pop up the high street for a pasty - 25 miles away or 41 mins by car.

Lydford Gorge

Lydford Gorge - Explore the deepest river gorge in the South West, with 30m high waterfall called the White Lady.  If you get peckish theres also a little cafe - 27.2 miles away or 55 mins by car.

finch foundry

Finch Foundry - The last water-powered built in the 19th century near Okehampton, Devon. Originally used to produce agricultural and mining hand tools - 32.7 miles away or 53 mins by car.


Lanhydrock -

Victorian country house with garden and wooded estate.  Lots to explore whether you walk or cycle and theres also 2 cafes if you get peckish - 37.7 miles away or 1hr 9 mins by car.

Carnewas at Bedruthan -

Just down the road from Padstow this is a great place for a nice walk or just viewing the amazing coast.  The shop and cafe which were converted from the old mine buildings - 46 miles away or 1 hour 15 mins by car.


Trerice Manor House -

Outside Newquay theres an Elizabethan manor house where you can explore both the house and Gardens.  Trerice is said to have inspired Winston Graham's original Trenwith in the story of Poldark - 49.7 miles away or 1 hour 20 mins by car.
